Welcome to the Fusion Youth & Community website. Here you’ll find the story of the Fusion International movement in the United Kingdom, from its beginning in 2003 until today. From youth cafes to community festivals, parenting courses to youthwork training – Fusion YAC seeks to work with groups of thoughtful, committed people who want to together help make a difference in their local area. St George in Wheatley

st_g.jpgApril 25th saw beautiful spring weather, around 800 people and the annual St George's day festival take place in Wheatley. From centre games to the community choir, craft activities to sumo suits and prayer tents to hospitality there was something for everyone this year. The festival is one is a series of events designed to help strengthen community in Wheatley village and saw local Christians, businesses and others of good will come together for a great day. "A gift to our community".

My view:Foundations - Sam Corfe
samcorfe.jpgIn the February half term around 30 people from England, Wales, Jamaica & Greece attended a week long Foundations course in Northampton. The course is designed to provide practical tools for living & mission and to help participants unlock some of the struggles & mysteries of life and is run both for adults and young people. Sam Corfe (16) was part of Youth Foundations and writes about his experience of being part of the week. Read more
Commando Course to Foundations - training
fusionhistory3.jpgTraining has always been a significant part of Fusion International's work - from Christian youth & community worker training officially accredited by the Australian government, to parenting, arts weeks, media or individual mentoring & casework. This emphasis began when hundreds of young people came to faith in the 60s but didn't know how to live life as a Christian - that was when Mal Garvin first put together the ‘Commando Course'. Today we call it ‘Foundations'. Read more
My view:Tim Britten on South Africa
sa.jpgIn December last year a Fusion team landed in Johannesburg, South Africa to begin the first practical, on-the-ground steps in the 2010 world cup project. By 2010 the aim is to work with as many local people as possible to run 300 community festivals and celebrate the South African moment. Tim Britten from Preston was part of the team and reflects on his experience going to this beautiful but challenging country and the people he met there. Read more
