Pulse, Wheatley’s weekly youth cafe was set up in October 2011, and has up to 25 young people who regularly attend and get really engaged with the activities and each other. Since its start the young people have been given the opportunity to experience a variety of ways to get creative. A favourite was the cooking evening. Many wonderful creations came out of the cake decorating competition. The young people also found that having squirty cream, squirty chocolate mousse and a ton of fruit on waffles wasn’t always easy to eat, but they seemed to manage it. It was great to see that afterwards a lot of the young people who participated came forward to help tidy up the kitchen.
